If you want to live in a world where you are free to walk down the street and feel what you want to feel, dress as you want to dress, love who you want to love, live how who want to live, and do so FREE from discrimination, bullying, fear and violence then STAND UP. If someone tries to silence you, SPEAK LOUDER. If someone tries to push you down PUSH HARDER. FUCK bullies! Stand up not just for yourself, but for everyone around you!
Where is the criminal responsibility? There were witnesses in those halls and in the school bus where Jamie was tormented! Be brave and speak up and seek justice! At the very least, these bullies deserve Juvenile Dentention.. and at the most 5, 10 or 14 years in prison!
The Canadian Criminal Code states under section 222
"222. (1) A person commits homicide when, directly or indirectly, by any means, he causes the death of a human being.
(b) by criminal negligence;
(c) by causing that human being, by threats or fear of violence or by deception, to do anything that causes his death; or
(d) by wilfully frightening that human being, in the case of a child or sick person."
This means the bullies!
Further, in section 219 and 220:
"219. (1) Every one is criminally negligent who
(a) in doing anything, or
(b) in omitting to do anything that it is his duty to do,
shows wanton or reckless disregard for the lives or safety of other persons.
220. Every person who by criminal negligence causes death to another person is guilty of an indictable offence and liable... (b) in any other case, to imprisonment for life."
This includes the school bus driver, any teachers or people in authority, or other bystanders who were witness to or aware of the bullying!
These kind of incidences have happened often enough that it is time to ENFORCE our laws and bring social and criminal ACCOUNTABILITY to our school system!
